Bill is engaged in his fourth decade of service to the non-profit community, incorporating a wealth of institutional, consulting, and volunteer experience that benefits every Company client. Bill founded Jaques & Company in 1987 following thirteen years in development leadership positions at St. Mark’s School (Associate Director of Development), Noble and Greenough School (Director of Development), and Harvard University (Director of Major Gifts). “My cumulative experiences in these progressively more intensive environments provided me with an unusually strong understanding of development program principles and fundamentals,” says Bill, “while exposing me to the natural connectivity of governance, institutional strategy, and financial strategy with the ongoing development agenda.” In addition to being the company CEO, Bill retains his commitment to serving company clients as principal or supporting consultant. “I love being in the client engine room,” says Bill. “Being a part of client successes and challenges is always rewarding and energizing.” When asked how clients might describe his consulting style, Bill says, “Relentless focus on what matters most. Team oriented. Affirming. And a cheesy sense of humor.” Bill is a dedicated analyst and student of industry trends, emerging issues, best practices, etc. He is a frequent speaker at AFP, AISNE, CASE and NAIS conferences across the country. Bill is a graduate of the St. Mark’s School (MA) and received his A.B. from Harvard College. He has an abiding interest in art and design, is an inveterate gardener, and is a diehard recreational athlete and Red Sox fan. He and his wife Bev enjoy keeping up with their three grown children, sons and daughters-in-law, and granddaughters. Bill continues to be an active community volunteer on Boston's North Shore. |
